Monica Lewinsky gets a weed strain named after her

A dispensary based in Seattle, WA, has released a new hybrid strain of marijuana to the public aptly named Monica Lewinsky because…well, for obvious reasons.

While Monica Lewinsky has been in and out of the media over the last 20 years, she has been most popular for the first thing that got her into the focus of the media – her involvement in the White House sex scandal during the Clinton administration.

All that might change very soon, as Ms. Lewinsky just got a cannabis strain named after her in Seattle, WA, where recreational cannabis has been legal for a couple of years.

Since her involvement in the White House scandal, Ms. Lewinsky has been out and about trying to bring attention to various causes such as bullying and sexual discrimination, but this honor was certainly not something she expected.

Monica Lewinsky tweeted to her followers that a cannabis company named Sugarleaf has created a strain of marijuana named after her. The strain has over 20% THC contents!

Ms. Lewinsky doesn’t admit to smoking or going with the program, as she simply pointed her Twitter followers towards this intriguing find.

Or, perhaps it’s an elaborate promotion strategy, who knows.

Not the first celebrity strain

Many celebrities have marijuana strains dedicated to them, and this has been the case mostly for people who have already been known in the media as marijuana activists, playboys and other.
